93 | Wine Spectator | Singed walnut, toasted sesame, buckwheat and rye notes mingle in this solidly built oloroso, ending with a racy edge on the bone-dry finish. Drink now. 2,800 cases made, 110 cases imported. — JM August 2020 |

92 BB | Wine & Spirits Magazine | Blind panels tasted 24 Oloroso sherries for this issue; Only 6 wines were rated as exceptional (90+) and only 4 rated as Best Buys. This Oloroso is surprisingly light in texture but deep in flavors of black plum, macerated strawberries and dark-roast espresso coffee. It aged in a solera for a minimum of eight years, refreshed annually by wine from three vineyards grown in albariza soil. It shows its age a bit with scents of older wood but there is a chalky acidity and a finish that leaves your mouth with a lasting perfume. It’s reminiscent of Maraschino cherries in syrup – and intriguing as a substitute for vermouth in a Manhattan. Best Buy; August 2020 |
